BirdsInYourOwnBackyard :: Christmas Ideas :: Decorative Wreaths - Unlit
Christmas wreaths are the ideal way to bring traditional holiday decoration to your home and to double as bird feeding stations for the wild birds in your backyard. You can create your own or better still, why not take a ready-made design, fresh or artificial, and embellish it to cater for the birds?
You can add nuts, seeds, fat balls, apples, oranges and more. Nuts are best suspended in net bags from the frame of the wreath. Pine cones can be covered in peanut butter, rolled in bird seed and then wired at the base to the wreath. Garages, fences and garden sheds are excellent locations for your wreaths to minimize any mess. Make sure you can see them from your home so you and your family can enjoy identifying your winter visitors. Check out our selection of birding books to help them get the most out of this experience.
Wreaths symbolise life surviving through the winter - so why not give your local wild birds a helping hand?
